ZZ Music Terms of Service & Disclaimer

Welcome to ZZ Music! Please read these Terms of Service carefully before downloading, installing, or using this application.

1. Nature and Scope of Service

ZZ Music is a local playback and personal audio management utility designed for local files, local area network storage (SMB), and personal cloud drives (WebDAV, Aliyun Drive). ZZ Music does not host, distribute, or stream any copyrighted commercial audio catalogs.

2. Intellectual Property & User Responsibility

• Users must ensure that the audio files played within the app originate from legitimate sources or personal collections.
• Metadata and lyrics fetched via online search engines belong to their respective copyright holders and are intended for personal, non-commercial use only.
• Users are solely responsible for keeping their cloud credentials and API keys secure.

3. Licensing & Sponsorship Terms

• Core local playback, playlist browsing, sharing, and online lyrics & cover matching form the Free Edition, permanently free for all users. Its availability does not depend on whether you sponsor the developer.
• A 30-day full-feature Pro trial starts automatically from the first time you open the app on a device. Every Pro feature is unlocked during the trial. After it ends, users may voluntarily sponsor the developer to obtain a lifetime Pro license, which unlocks advanced features such as cloud drive mounting and sync, the equalizer, custom playlists, and AI features.
• Activation code format: codes have the shape ZZPRO-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX (29 characters, 4 groups of 5). Earlier versions also had a ZZPLUS- prefix for a separate high tier; as of v4.0.0 there is a single Pro tier and that prefix is no longer accepted.
• Channel binding: a code is strictly bound to the channel that issued it and cannot be mixed across channels. The Google Play build and the Official build share the same application ID and signing key, so only one of them can be installed on a device at a time. A code can only be redeemed in the client of its own channel; if it does not match the installed build, the app will ask you to use the matching build.
• Pricing and where each license is sold: the Google Play build obtains the lifetime Pro license through Google Play in-app purchase; the Official build obtains it from the official website and activates it with a code inside the app. The Pro entitlement is identical in both channels — only the activation method differs.
• Activation and device binding: activation requires a single online verification; once verified, the app writes a device-bound digital license certificate locally, after which the app works fully offline. A license is bound to one device at a time. To move to a new device, simply re-enter the same activation code on the new device (the old device leaves Pro the next time it goes online). If every device and the code itself have been lost, contact official support with your purchase order and we will help restore the license after verification.
• Contributions are considered voluntary support for ongoing development and maintenance.

4. Limitation of Liability

The software is provided "AS IS", without warranty of any kind. Under no circumstances shall the developers be held liable for any data loss, hardware faults, or indirect damages arising from the use of this software.
